Dr. Amber Watters is an oral oncologist with research interests in oral side effects of cancer therapy, osteoradionecrosis of the jaw, and bisphosphonate (antiresorptive) related osteonecrosis of the jaw.

Dr. Heidi J. Hansen received her dental degrees from the University of Copenhagen in 2004 and from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2008. She completed fellowships in infectious disease and oral medicine, both from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a fellowship in dental oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She completed a general practice residency in dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medicine where she stayed on as faculty and later as program director. Dr. Hansen is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine.

Dr. Hansen’s clinical expertise includes the management of oral mucosal diseases, including the oral adverse effects of cancer treatment, and the dental management of cancer patients. She has specific knowledge in the management of patients undergoing head and neck radiation therapy, chemotherapy, anti-resorptive therapy and stem cell transplantation. Dr. Hansen sees patients in Portland, OR.

As a provider specializing in the oral supportive care of patients with cancer, Dr. Hansen is keenly focused on improving the quality of oral care for patients during all phases of their cancer treatments. Her research interests include clinical topics within the fields of oral medicine and oral oncology.
